Privacy Policy — Wardio

Last updated: October 28, 2026

Wardio ("the App") is a local, offline music player for Android, developed by Mohammed Ward.

1. No Internet Access

The App does not request or hold the INTERNET permission. It never connects to any network, server, or external service.

2. No Data Collection

Wardio does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data, usage data, or device identifiers. There are no analytics SDKs, no telemetry, no crash reporting services, and no advertisements.

The App includes an optional technical log of playback events (such as a track starting or audio stopping) to help diagnose problems. This log is off by default; it records nothing unless you turn it on yourself from the About screen, and it is stored on your device only. If the App closes because of an error, it saves a crash report locally (time, app version, Android version, device model, and the technical error details) and shows it on a screen where you can copy or share it. Neither is ever sent anywhere automatically; they leave your device only if you yourself press the share button and send it.

3. Local Storage Only

All music files, playlists, settings, and app data are stored exclusively on your device's local storage. Nothing is uploaded, synced, or backed up to any cloud service.

4. Permissions

Wardio only requests the minimal permissions strictly necessary for local music playback: access to audio files on your device, playback notifications, a foreground service for background playback, optional haptic feedback, and Bluetooth headphone connectivity. It also requests the microphone permission (RECORD_AUDIO) solely because Android requires it to run the audio Visualizer; this stays disabled unless you enable that specific feature. On Android 9 and below it also requests write access to storage, used only when you yourself choose to edit a song's tags or delete a song from inside the App (on newer versions the system shows a confirmation dialog instead). The playback libraries bundled with the App also add two normal permissions: WAKE_LOCK (keeps the processor awake while playing with the screen off) and ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE (only lets an app see whether a connection exists; it does not allow the App to connect to the internet or send any data). These permissions are never used to collect or transmit data.
